Below you will find answers to Frequently Asked Questions regarding the actual race(s) taking place in Colorado.
This is my first event. I have a lot of questions.
THAT IS AMAZING! We're so happy to have you join us. Did you know that 30% of racers at our all-women's events report that is their first time racing, too? Email the race director if you ever have a question that isn't answered here.
The other women participating next to you are some pretty remarkable ladies and we KNOW that they will be encouraging and supportive if you have questions on race day - just ask someone standing next to you! You may just make a new friend!
I can't remember if I'm actually registered. How can I check?
To look up the participant list for any race, click on the "REGISTER" button for that event. On the registration page you will find a blue tab labeled, "Find a Participant." Click there and you will be able to search the list of registered runners. This applies to runners who registered through our site.
If you didn't get a confirmation email, chances are that your email address was typed into the software erroneously. In that case, please email us and we'll help make the fix!
How To Get Results Notifications

I'm a walker and will take longer than the course cut off time. Does this mean I can't participate in the fun event?
Walkers are welcome and we'll do everything we can to include you in our very fun day! Although the course may 'close' at a certain time to accommodate City or other requirements, we will start you earlier than the rest so that you can finish before the closure time. If this is the case for you, email us in advance!
Will we run in poor weather conditions?
The race will not be postponed or cancelled due to weather unless something SEVERE is happening such as lightning storm, tornado or white-out conditions. If that is the case, announcements will be made on our Facebook page and on the race webpage in addition to racer email communication. Lightning may cause a delay. White out conditions in Colorado in June will cause general chaos and end-of-time scenarios. 99.9% of the time, the race will go on as scheduled.
Can my son run with me?
If your son is in a stroller (see next question regarding strollers) or in your womb, the answer is yes. Otherwise, he can cheer you on!
May I participate with my stroller?
Check the specific 'course info' page regarding elevation and course surface. Strollers are welcome. If you can push it, you can bring it!
May I participate with my dog?
No. Please leave your furry friend at home. Due to the course (we utilize a lot of shoulders of the road for this one), it is unsafe for you to race with your furry friend.
Do you have pacers on the course?
Is there any water or support on the course?
Absolutely. Please refer to the COURSE INFORMATION page for each event. On that page you'll find information about how many water stations we provide and where the toilets on the course are located!
The friendly volunteers at the aid stations will also have radio/phone access to the on-course EMT and finish line paramedics just in case you need more support than a cup of cold water!
I picked up my shirt and now I'd like a different size. What can I do?
Bring your unworn shirt to the race. As soon as the race starts, we open 'shirt exchange' with any shirts that were unclaimed. You can trade out your unused shirt for a different size, as long as supplies last.
I can't make it to advanced packet pick up. Can someone else pick up for me?
Yes, absolutely! Send a friend or family member to pick up your gear in advance. See details regarding pick up date/location HERE.
What will I get with my entry fee?
All runners will receive a top-notch race event!
There is no charge for parking for this event.
5k, 10k, and 13er racers receive a souvenir race bib and performance fabric race tee shirt with your race goody bag.
13er finishers will also receive a FINISHER MEDAL when you cross the finish line!

Do You Offer A Military Discount?
Yes! Send a scanned copy of your ACTIVE military ID to info@3WRaces.com and request a military discount code. We'll send you a 10% off code that you use on all 3W events throughout the calendar year in which it is requested. (Does not apply to 'packaged or bundled' races or virtual events.) You'll also receive special use instructions in the email at that time!
You call this a "13er." What is the true distance of the race and why does my GPS read something different?
The '13er' course is a true 13.1 miles, also known as a 'half marathon."
The 5k course is 3.1 miles. The 10k is 6.2 miles.
All courses are measured using industry-standard, MECHANICAL equipment (e.g. Jones Counter). By this measurement, the actual surface of the course is measured, not digital estimations which are used in GPS technology. For this reason, your GPS watch recorded distance may vary from the true 3.1 or 13.1 miles of the actual course.
I would like to switch distances for this event. How can I do that and what is the fee?
You registered through a 3rd Party site, www.RunSignUp.com, and created a username and password at that time. Log in to RunSignUp.com to manage your registration. Look at the blue tabs that read "Transfer to Another Event" and walk through the steps there. 3W Races does not add any fees to do this. If there is a difference in what you paid when you registered and what the current fee is for the distance you want to run, RunSignUp will charge the difference and their small processing fee.
If you decide on race day to drop distances from 13.1 to the 10k or 5k, just let us know at the registration tent (before you start the race!) There is no fee for dropping to the shorter distance.
I can't run (because I am injured, left the country, haven't trained, am going to a party instead, just found out I've got the kids that weekend, forgot to check my calendar before registering, or I just don't want to do it.) Can I get a refund?
Sorry, no. However, you can "transfer" your registration to another participant using the management functions at www.RunSignUp.com. Race registration fees are non-refundable. If you already registered and will not be racing with us on race day, you are still welcome to pick up your packet (shirt, bib, goody bag) during advanced packet pick up.
If you want to transfer your registration to a different DATE of a 3W owned event, you can also do this through your RunSignUp account for a $15 fee. We will allow this when requested at least 72 hours BEFORE the start of the event. Run Sign Up will take what you paid, less the $15, and apply to another 3W Races Event date in the same calendar year that you select.
What's the procedure for awards and what are the age groups?
Awards and age group info is found on the Event Information page.
Awards will be announced during the scheduled awards time on race day. Awards will not be mailed. You must be present to claim your prize.
I picked up my packet and bib, but I didn't get a timing chip - what should I do?
Fret not! Your timing chip is adhered to the back of your race bib. As long as you wear that bib front and center, you're good to go!
I didn't pick up my packet and I didn't come to the race. Can I still get my packet after the event?
No - sorry. Any unclaimed swag is disassembled and returned, gifted, recycled or re-purposed immediately following each event date.
Where can I find pictures from this event?
On each event page, there is a button near the top that reads. 'PHOTOS'. Click there to be redirected to the photos which are FREE for you to download. This link is also sent to you in the post-event email from the race director.

I think I placed in my age group, but I didn't stick around for awards. Will you mail my medal/prize to me?
You must be present to claim your award and we don't mail awards after the event. However, email us if this is the case, and we may be able to drop off your award at a partner business, our office or nearby running store for you to pick up!
My time is not posted, not correctly posted, has my name spelled incorrectly, etc. How can I get my results adjusted?
Email us right away and we'll do what we can to make it right! Include your name, bib number, where you wore your bib, which distance you ran, what your estimated or self recorded time was and we'll research it with our timers right away.
